How to Save Smartphone Battery Charge- Draining Problems

Smartphone battery tricks tips
Charging Smartphone

Technology exploding its new features and advancement in each days. Every brands are in search for new developments and their R&D team are working in their full efficiency. Remembering my childhood days with Nokia base model to the smartphone technology with 5G. And also the changes in display like HD, Ultra HD, Curve display, foldable display etc.

I said this to look back where we was in the last few years and where we are now. Even at the jumping of the advance technology, Common people still facing the issues relating to the battery. Brands developing more strength in batteries but we need some more or due to our mistakes, the capacity or life time of the battery decreases considerably. Here i am giving you the tips and tricks to save the battery charge of the smartphone and its life time too.

1. Charging

Charging is an important aspect in the smartphone life. Battery of the smartphones are lithium-ion battery which have limited the number of charging cycles. The manufacturer usually declares the no: of cycles. I recommend you to charge your smartphone in between 20 - 30 %. That's the better battery charge position to refill the charge. And don't allow to go below 10% which will affect the battery.

And some of people says that the smartphone should charge till it becomes full. I don't know the reason behind it. I charge my phone till it gets 90% charge and i will take it back and use it. There is a funny myth that you have to unplug your charger after 100% because overcharge will heat your battery and can have the possibility of exploding. Hahaha. Smartphones are not a piece of electronic device that high school students made for studying.

There is setup to cutoff the power to the battery after 100% and there will not any flow of charge even after the fully charge. And there will not any reverse flow of the charge from battery to the power plug. I heard that foolishness in my life from many people.

2. Data, GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi etc

Bluetooth

These are some of the utilities provided by the smartphone. All of these uses some kind of sensors and its working all time. These sensors need power to work and these are taking from the mobile battery throughout the time. I agreed that all of these are needed in our daily life. But turn off these functions after the use. Turn on these only when it needs.

Otherwise it will consume the battery power throughout the day. It results the draining of the battery more faster. We can save the same by turning off when its not necessary. GPS will search for your accurate location all the time if you turn on. Like that, wifi and bluetooth also search for the devices to connect with. These will drain your battery more.

Mobile phone has a specialty that it will always search for best network to serve to better calling experience and high speed internet. For that, Mobile depends on the battery and the mobile will consume more power if there is poor connectivity and drain your battery fastly. So turn off the unnecessary  inbuilt utilities.

3. Don't Clear RAM frequently

In my high school days, I asked my friends how to increase the speed of my smartphone and reduce the battery draining. They insist me to clear the RAM to increase the speed and reduce the battery drain. The reason they gave me is, if there are more apps opened in the RAM, it will slow down the phone and you have to clear it.

I did it those days because that was the only information i have on that. But now, I strongly says that, don't do the foolishness i have done in old days. RAM- Random Access Memory is used to access the data from the  primary memory and all the process are done in the RAM. Once you open an app, it will be in the RAM till it gets cleared. This will save the time to open that app next time and thus increase the speed. And once the app taped to open, if RAM has that app, phone can easily open it without any effort.

But if we cleared that app from RAM, phone needs to open it from the beginning which have lot of process which takes time and consume power. So clearing RAM frequently will drain your battery more than you think. Never repeat that foolishness.

4. Close down the apps after use

There are commonly three buttons in the home screen which are Recent apps, Home, Back. Each have specified functions. Among these back button and home button can perform the intended function alternatively by the user. User wants to go the home screen and there are two ways: directly press home button and repeatedly press the back button.

We will directly press the home button easily because it just need one touch and saves more time. But we don't know the process that working. Pressing back button make you exit from the app and go back to the previous screen and last at home screen. Home screen will minimize the app that you are using and show you the home screen.

Both of them have differences that back button are closing down the app and home button will just minimize it and app gets working in background. That increases the draining of battery. So, if you completed the use of that app, close it instead of minimize it.

6. Adjust Brightness

While you analyse the battery consumption, you will get that most of the battery power is consumed by the screen. White and brighter display will consume more power than the Black and dark display. So make sure that your background picture of phone, your theme etc are dark in colour or black. It will reduce your draining of battery.

You can experience it in the first time itself. Next is automatic brightness. It is working with the help of sensor. Sensor will always in working and consume power for it. It will change the brightness frequently according to the light fall on the sensor. This will drain your battery considerably.

7. Automatic Screen Off

There is settings to set the the time to off the screen automatically after the inactivity of certain time. The screen which is always light up will drain more power as i already said that the display is the most power consuming part of phone.

So turn off the display after use to save the battery. And also put your screen into sleep at the time of inactivity by adjusting the settings in the screen setting or display setting. Frequently awaking of screen without any purpose also affect the time of battery power remaining.

8. Turn off vibration & haptic feedback

Vibrations in your phone is working on a vibrating motor which needs high amount of power. It is another reason to lose your power of battery. Does your phone vibrates while you typing something. It's called haptic feedback. Search this in your phone settings, and turn it off. It also consume your battery more. Its all are additional services and if we are ready to adjust without that, we can use our phone for more time. So turn off vibrations of calls and the haptic feedback.

9. Flight mode

Flight mode

Flight mode is a settings in smartphone to stop the connectivity of the phone in any means. Its actually created to use the phone while travelling in flights. In old days, we don't have this flight mode and authorities will not permit to use the phone while in fights due to various reasons. So manufacturers setup this to cut off the connectivity so that users can freely use it in flight.

As i stated above, phone use more charge to search the better connectivity to serve you the best. The phone is always in searching and if the coverage is poor, it will increase its searching power. This will drain your battery, so its better to put your phone in flight mode so that it will not search anymore and can save battery. Its better to cut off connectivity than lose your battery power which still doesn't  coverage and any service.
