New Delhi: WhatsApp has postponed the implementation of its privacy policy. It has been extended to May 15. The move comes in the wake of international protests over the implementation of WhatsApp privacy.


WhatsApp says personal messages are always encrypted and will remain private. But the company added that the method of sharing data with Facebook is not new and is not going to expand. The company said it would take action to change the misconceptions.

But WhatsApp has explained that it will not leak information about customers' phone numbers or where they are going to Facebook or anyone else. WhatsApp's new explanation is that only business-related information is exchanged in business chats.


With the announcement of WhatsApp's new information sharing policy, thousands of people are flocking to platforms such as Signal and Telegram.
